Delusive, It is to me

I'm back

*dusts the dust off my blog*
oh well, it's 2 months since my last blog,
and I guess by now, people have stop reading my blog due to the lack of updates
*shrugs* life alone and abroad is great but major setback is that you never seem to have enough time for everything you want to do for YOURSELF.

but this can apply to anyone, isn't it?

well, life has been a whirlwind these five months
more exciting than usual.
All the experimenting with food- see which combination is best for the palate
money- see how you can stretch your limit as best as you can
time - see how little sleep you can survive on while rushing your assignments and cramming for your exams
friends- how they stick by you even though you all weren't close to begin with

and all these made me appreciate home even more, not that I wasn't appreciative.
and I know that I'm extremely lucky to have all these

well, on another note, now that all my housemates have went back home,
I've taken my experimenting to newer heights, I hope ;p
been trying receipes with all the food that I have in my fridge
which has been fun

I've a new receipe for a light summer pasta (Japanese style)
and have tried my hand in truffle making (plain choc, coffee and mashmallow)
and have discovered that you need COOKING thickened cream for it.
'cos silly me didn't know the difference between it and dessert thickened cream.
apparently, dessert cream should not be heated and I've only realised this on my second try.
and I've bought two bottles of it! silly silly me.

Also, before W went back, we went to NZ on a low budget of 2500 (max) for 12 days
and I was surprised that we managed to eat pretty well,
esp after we had survived on peanut butter and bread for most of the days.
of course, granted that we didn't do a lot of adventure activities but you should know, they are expensive. really expensive.
Made friends on the trip and some of them are visiting me in Syd. ;P
they are really fun to be with and i'm looking forward to meet them again
